Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller 4000
Rolex introduced the modern version of the Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller watch, making this legendary diver’s watch released in 1967 reappear. This 40mm technical diver’s watch is water-resistant to 1,220 meters (4,000 feet) and uses Rolex’s innovative technologies and devices, including Cerachrom ceramic word rings, long-lasting Chromalight luminous materials, paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairsprings, Safety buckle and Rolex Glidelock strap extension. Originally designed as a professional deep-sea diving pioneer, the Sea-Dweller 4000 is equipped with a helium exhaust valve patented by Rolex in 1967, making it worthy of the name of a deep-sea diving watch. During the deep dive decompression, the air pressure will rise accordingly. At this time, the cleverly designed safety valve will release helium from the case, while ensuring that the watch is effectively waterproof.
Ceramic word circle and persistent luminous display
The 60-minute progressive bezel with unidirectional rotation of the Sea-Dweller 4000 allows divers to accurately and safely grasp their diving and decompression time. This model is equipped with a patented black Cerachrom ring developed by Rolex and is made of highly scratch-resistant ceramic, which will not fade even when exposed to ultraviolet rays. The progressive graduation uses PVD (PhysicalVapourDeposition) coating technology to fill a layer of platinum film. The luminous black dial is equipped with luminous material Chromalight hour markers and hands, which emit a persistent blue light in the dark, which is clear and easy to read.
Oyster case, a symbol of water resistance
The Sea-Dweller 4000 Oyster Case is water-resistant to 1,220 meters (4,000 feet) and is a solid example of reliability. The distinctive middle case is made of solid block 904L steel with extremely strong corrosion resistance. The triangular-shaped bottom case is screwed tightly by Rolex watchmakers with special tools exclusive to the brand to completely seal the case. The winding crown uses Rolex’s patented triple-lock triple waterproof system, which is firmly screwed to the case. Its waterproof performance is comparable to that of a submarine door, and it is protected by a crown shoulder that is integrated with the middle case. In addition, the mirror is made of scratch-resistant sapphire. The waterproof case of the Sea-Dweller 4000 provides the best protection for a highly accurate movement, protected from moisture, dust, pressure and impact.
Caliber 3135, top precision timepiece
The new Sea-Dweller 4000 uses a 3135 automatic mechanical movement developed entirely by Rolex with a date display. Like all Rolex calibre movements, the 3135 movement has also received the Swiss Official Accreditation for Timepieces. This certification is specifically awarded to precision watches that have successfully passed the Swiss Precision Timepiece Testing Center (COSC) test. The construction of this movement is the same as that of all Oyster watch movements, with unparalleled reliability. The balance swing component is the heart of the watch. It is equipped with Rolex’s patented blue Parachrom hairspring made of a unique niobium-zirconium alloy. It is not affected by magnetic fields and is extremely stable even in the face of temperature changes. 10 times higher.
Adjustable safety buckle strap
The Sea-Dweller 4000 Oyster strap is equipped with an Oyster safety clasp that prevents the buckle from accidentally opening, as well as a dual-stretch system, which makes it comfortable to wear even when wearing a 7mm wetsuit. The Oyster discount telescopic link can extend the strap by an additional 26 mm, and the Rolex Glidelock buckle can gradually extend the strap by 2 mm per segment, up to about 20 mm. Neither requires the use of other tools.
